USANA BiOmega receives approval from Consumerlab.com

Many people that are concerned about their health take a fish oil product. It seems that are so many fish oil products out there and so many questions What do I take? Do they have the things I need for better physical and mental health? Are they safe? Do they have contaminants in them? One question to consider before any other is does it actually have what it says on the label?

BiOmega from USANA recently passed testing by ConsumerLab.com answering many of the questions above. The findings were announced by USANA stating, in a recent study, ConsumerLab.com determined that USANA’s BiOmega TM contains its labeled amount of Fish Oil, EPA, DHA and Omega-3s.  This study tested similar products from various nutritional supplement manufacturers to determine whether they in fact contained the amounts of these compounds stated on their labels.  Problems were discovered in 30 percent of the other Fish Oil and Omega-3 supplements.

The FDA has recently has issued warnings about some supplements being potentially unsafe that are sold on the market. You can find more about the review of Biomega by USANA and additional information about supplements at www.consumerlab.com.

Is there a need for supplementation?

Some people say that you can get all you need from your food. This may be true but what do you need? Many Americans are deficient in essential nutrients like Vitamin E. There are billions of cells within our bodies and within them you will find health or disease. Feeding our cells the proper nutrients is called cellular nutrition.

Being fat affects your whole wellbeing.

It seems that we are reminded daily of obesity rising here in the U.S and around the World. The health issues alone can affect you physically in many ways including heart disease, diabetes, stroke, added stress to your joints, and several other ways that it can shorten your life. It can also affect your mental, emotional, and even spiritual health.

There are many reasons why people become obese or even a few pounds heavier than they would like to be. Not all weight gain involves overeating and a lack of exercise. Life situations that afect you emotionally or mentally. Some medications can also increase your appetite or decrease your libido. This can lead to mental ilness such as being diagnosed with a Bipolar condition or depression which can also trigger an overeating binging period.

Many times someones health is greatly affected before deciding that it's time to go on more than just a diet but to engage yourself in a major lifestyle change. Diets come and go with many fads. Some may produce great short term results but can't be maintained for long term benefits and can often be unhealthful if continued. Usually these fad diets take some important part out of your daily eating such as low fat, low calorie, or low carb.

The best approach is a sustained lifestyle change that includes exercising, eating the right right foods which means eating the correct amount of fats, proteins, and even carbs, and also nutritional supplementation. Doing one of these will usually produce good results, doing two will give you better results, and doing all three is the best way to achieve the body you are looking for with reduced body fat, increased muscle mass, and an overall healthier body, mind, and spirit for long term health and wellness.

Since March I have been a Team Captain for several USANA Reset Scramble Contests. When I personally was competing on the first team team I lost 9 pounds. My wife Sonia lost 6 pounds in the second round, and most recently one of our team members lost 15 pounds. These have run for two weeks at at time and even recently for four weeks. Obviously this amount of time is not enough to develop long term lifestyle changes and good healthy habits but it can introduce you to what would be expected to develop new habits as you go forward.

Imagine how your life would change if you weighed over 500 pounds and seeing your health and even your life slipping away. Hattie Montgomery has lost 320 pounds over the last few years. Some of it through her own efforts and some while using the USANA Reset and Transform Program. She offers a message hope
to get you health and life back. Read her story...

Many fruits and vegetables contain flavonoids. These have wonderful health benefits that for years have been known to help reduce blood pressure and inflammation. Now there is research showing that flavonoids that are often found in sstrawberries, bblackberries, blueberries, and even eggplant can help in the prevention of Parkinson's.
In an article by Time Healthland a study from Harvard School of Public Health and Norwich Medical School looked at 130,000 men and women participating in the Nurses’ Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study — long-running studies analyzing lifestyle behaviors, including diet, and health outcomes among health care professionals.

More than 800 participants developed Parkinson’s disease over the study’s 20-year follow-up. After adjusting for age and lifestyle, the researchers found that men who ate the most flavonoids were 40% less likely to develop Parkinson’s than men who ate the least...Read more.
