Lowering BPA exposure
It has only been a little over a month since the Healthy Home book was released. It offers simple solutions to modern conveniences that could be affecting our health. There are now stories showing up in the news that discuss issues addressed in the book. In the book it speaks about using other containers such as glass or stainless steel to store food and to avoid storing in certain plastics. mainly Styrofoam.

It is commonly used in shatterproof polycarbonate plastic food and beverage containers, lids of glass jars, epoxy lining in metal cans and dental sealants. Research has shown BPA can leach out of the plastic and into food and can be harmful even at low doses.
Several families were tested for BPA levels at the beginning of the study. During the study the family removed all packaged foods from their diet. BPA levels were reduced at the end of the study. Once they began to use packaged foods again the levels went back up.
