It's amazing that with all the studies showing the effectiveness of Vitamin D in our overall health that many people still have a Vitamin D defeciency. The U.S. RDA is so far behind the curve that it could take years for the levels to be raised. It is now recommended that every adult take 4000-8000 IU daily while the U.S. RDA remains at 800 IU. The RDA has doubled since it was found that 400 IU prevents rickets in the 20th century..
Vitamin D has been found to reduce the risk of type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and several types of cancer, and not to mention how it builds our immune system..
